Forca Recurva
🚗 Wishlist Forca Recurva on Steam.
Fail. Reflect. Iterate. Improve.
Race your past selves in this strategic racing game. Every lap is a trial against your previous attempts. Outmaneuver your mistakes, collaborate with your past self, and reflect to turn failure into success.
What Makes Forca Recurva Unique
- Reflection Racing
Your past selves aren’t just visual reflections. They interact with the track and each other, occupying space and shaping every lap. - Puzzle-Like Racing
Every trial demands strategy, foresight, and coordination with your reflections.
Fail, reflect, improve, and transform your past failures into stepping stones for success.
Follow the Journey
Forca Recurva is developed in the open. You can follow the entire process on YouTube — from first prototype to final release — and share your thoughts and personal best times on our Discord. Be part of the journey and play the prototype as the game evolves.

Release Notes
Only the most relevant changes are noted here.
Whenever possible I tag changes with the specific day of my 52 day challenge.
16.11.2025 (Day 7)
The goal today was to improve the prototype without adding new features. I want a solid foundation before adding new stuff.
- Player is now red and reflections are blue.
- Added pause menu. Pause with the "Esc" key.
- You are now allowed to steer during poise (countdown).
- Reflections are no longer rendered during poise (countdown).
- Added smoke and related sfx.
- Moved away from SendMessages for input and we now use native C# events for more control.
12.10.2025 (Day 6)
This update includes improvements based on player feedback and observations from day 6 of my 52 day challenge.
- Improved track ending by adding two vertical challenges (jump & climb).
- Increased car collision "bumpiness" and "slipperiness" to prevent the player car from getting stuck when touching a wall. Now the player car bounces off and can usually continue driving.
- Steering direction is now flipped when using a mouse & keyboard while reversing. This results in an improved player experience.
- The player can now steer before the countdown ends.
-
Reworked terminology and applied it throughout the prototype.
- Renamed game from Ghost Racer to Forca Recurva.
- Renamed Loop to Recurve
- Renamed Ghost to Echo
- Renamed Finish to Resolution.
- Renamed Checkpoint to Pit.
- and more ...
- All cars now have two front lights.
- Echoes now interpolate between the recorded data points.
- Echoes now have a speed display.
- Echoes now replay the player's steering behavior.
- Improved performance when replaying recorded echo data.
- Added a few more links to the stat screen.
-
Reworked the stat screen.
- Simplified colors.
- Removed developer's best time.
xx.09.2025 (~ Day 5)
- September was all about figuring out the game's theme, it's terminology and publishing my very first Steam page. I didn't dedicate specific time to the development and instead used downtime during my commute or while falling asleep to think about what this game could be.
03.08.2025 (Day 0 - 4)
- Initial release of the GMTK game jam prototype.
